State Allocation Board Turnover
Monday, November 25, 2024
Two Senate appointees to the State Allocation Board (SAB) are completing their service this year. Senator Scott Wilk is leaving the Senate after reaching his term limit, and Senator Josh Newman lost his bid for re-election in a newly drawn district. It is still unknown whether Senate President Pro Tempore McGuire will appoint replacements prior to the December 3rd SAB meeting, which comes the day after the organizational session of the new legislative session. Another SAB member, Assembly Member Laurie Davies, prevailed in a close legislative race. While state law gives California election officials 30 days after the election date to complete vote counting, auditing and certification, the outcome of most contests would not be changed by the remaining number of votes to be counted or cured. ~CASH Staff
