This program is being brought to you at the suggestion of two small school district superintendents,
Melinda Hennes, Superintendent, Atwater Elementary School District, and Albert George, Liberty
Elementary School District (Tulare County), who were participants in the year-long C.A.S.H. School
Facilities Leadership Academy (CSFLA). They recommended C.A.S.H. offer a condensed version that
would fit into a superintendent’s schedule. Under the leadership of Bruce McDaniel, Superintendent,
Lennox Elementary School District and C.A.S.H. Board Member, we surveyed district and county office
superintendents. We developed a one-day workshop focused on the most significant facility issues for
superintendents. The first workshop will be in Sacramento.


The curriculum is intended to equip the superintendent with sufficient policy and procedural information
to ask the right questions, understand the implications of pursuing various alternatives and options, and
make informed policy decisions that will result in achieving the school district’s school facility goals.

Presenters are the top experts in the state on K-12 school facilities--many of whom are
superintendents.
